All Things New

I want us to reflect on a profound thought!  God is able to reverse all of the events in our lives and bring new order to them.  Is that not amazing?  God can make all things NEW!!

There are two words in Greek for “new”.  The one word means “something that has occurred before, but it is a new experience of it.”  It is somewhat like attending a worship service.  We may have attended other worship services before, but the one we are participating in at a specific time and place is a new adaptation to that experience.

The other word for new is something that is “altogether NEW” – something that is brand new.  It has never before been seen.  That is what God wants to do in your life; he wants to make everything altogether new.  The burdens of your life will be transformed – they will be completely new.  Things that used to tear your life apart will have new meaning.

Friends, you can be “new” if you will invite Jesus Christ to take up residence in your life.  All you have to do is acknowledge your need for a savior, admit that you are a sinner in need of God’s grace, and invite Jesus Christ to take up residence in every dimension of your life.  When we make this decision to follow Jesus Christ and allow him to have occupancy in our lives, those old, painful things will be no more.  And, as we read in Revelation 21:5, “And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”  We can be new creatures in Christ!

Bibles for West Africa

The Church in West Africa is growing exponentially!  Joe Fleming of Training2Send shared in a recent email, The Lord has truly multiplied throughout Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ghana that it has become impossible to keep up with the number of new believers. In Sierra Leone they will have 3000 disciples in training by the end of the year and 1000 in Liberia. The majority of these are new believers. I am amazed how the Lord is moving in the English speaking West Africa countries.”

Given this tremendous increase in Christians in West Africa, Joe has asked that if you have extra Bibles you are not using, PLEASE bring those Bibles to the church THIS Sunday so they can get in the hands of these new believers and Training2Send trainers!!  They have very few resources in these countries, so may we be a blessing to these new brothers and sisters in the Lord!!!
