People of Hope

Our church is named “Hope Community Church” for a reason!  We want to be people of HOPE!  That is an important word!!  As Christians, we are a people of HOPE!  As Jesus takes up residence in our lives, and as we become more and more familiar with his life in our lives, we are filled with HOPE!  We can go through incredible tragedy as Christians and still experience hope – increasing hope.

We can experience moral failure; we can sin to the nth degree and fall short of God’s glory, as Paul talks about in Romans, and still know of God’s grace and forgiveness – and His hope.

As we read in 1 Peter 3, we need to always be ready to make a defense to anyone who asks for a reason for the hope that is in us!  So, always be ready to talk about the hope that is in you.  Be ready to talk to anyone – don’t decide in advance who needs to hear the Gospel and who does not – don’t mark anyone off your list.  We may not have to talk, but we must always be ready to give people an understanding of the hope we have, especially in a world of so much sadness, despair, and hopelessness.  Remember that we have the GREATEST gift to give to people – the great gift of Jesus Christ.  So, are you ready to do it?  Do you know the words to speak?  It takes practice, rehearsal, and courage.
