The Christian life can be boiled down to this; it is a question of obedience to do what Jesus calls us to do. We either live as followers of Jesus, or we don’t. Frankly, doing what God calls us to do is a BIG problem for most of us.
In Acts 9, Jesus tells Saul to go to Damascus, and he will tell him what to do. Friends, Jesus has a plan for us. We so often think we have a better plan for our lives. But God has a better idea!
In Oregon, they have discovered the number one reason for car accidents. What do you think it is? Speeding? DUI? Sleepiness? It is tailgating. But there is ONE exception to the tailgating rule . . . and that has to do with following Jesus. We need to get as close as we can to Jesus. He knows where we are going; he knows what is ahead; he knows the challenges we will face. So, stay close to Jesus, even as Jesus stayed close to the Father.
Jesus says in John 5:19: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can only do what he sees the Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” Sometimes we think that lifestyle doesn’t apply to us, that we know what’s best for us. But that same lifestyle needs to apply to us. Even Jesus does that! So, back off the driver in front – but stay close to Jesus!

There are a few folks already trained in AED use along with CPR and Basic First Aid, but we would like to solicit others interested in learning and becoming members of our Medical Response Team. The training is expected to be without cost but class size will be limited. Interested? Please let Richard Ammons know, in person or via ChurchTrac directory contact information. If you wish to help pay for the AED, please make checks payable to Hope Community Church (Memo: For AED).
