Two elderly women at a church in Kentucky were discussing the problems of growing older. One of the ladies commented, “The worst thing about getting older is when your memory starts to go. She went on, “I’ve known you all my life, but I can’t think of your name. What is it?” The second lady thought for a moment and said, “Do you need an answer right now?!”
Memory is important! Psalm 105 is filled with the memory of what God has done for us. We are reminded of his deeds (v. 1), his “wondrous works” (v. 2), His “miracles” and even his “judgments” (v. 5). And all of this is based on his covenant, which he remembered forever (v. 8).
As we pursue God, we are to remember what he has done. Much of Psalm 105 is focused on that memory. In v. 5 we are told, “Remember the wondrous works that he has done.” As Christians, we are to remember the ways God has intervened in our lives, especially in Jesus’ death and resurrection. We can now look to the future with hope.
Have you sometimes forgotten what God has done in your life? Do you remember the people who have influenced your life for Christ? Do you remember ways your parents, Sunday school teachers, or a dear Christian friend intersected your life just when you needed him/her? Then, as this psalm suggests, “Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Let us all remember His wondrous acts in our lives. (1) Write them down. (2) Celebrate them. And (3) share them with others!
Sunday Worship
Pastor Glen will continue his series on The Chosen this Sunday. His sermon will be, “You Are Called,” based on Isaiah 43:1-7. Please read this text, as well as Isaiah 42:18-25 in preparation for worship! 
We will also celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. We encourage you to examine yourself before receiving the Sacrament per 1 Corinthians 11:27-32.
We will expect individuals and families to follow appropriate social distancing guidelines. We want to be respectful of our brothers and sisters. You will need to bring and wear protective masks while entering and moving about the building. We will not pass an offering plate (an offering plate will be available for your tithes and offerings). Online giving opportunities are available on the website.
Children are welcome but families must sit together.
Nursery
We are pleased to offer a nursery for children through pre-school. The nursery is in the Sunday school area.
The Chosen Bible Study
We are excited to be offering an 8-week Small Group Bible Study series based on the popular DVD series, The Chosen. The small groups began this past Wednesday, and we are excited that our goal of 40 participants was exceeded!! We have almost 50 people participating!! Small groups either meet virtually through Zoom meetings or in person (at the church OR in someone’s home), depending on what works best for each participant.
